True Colour Match by TCI Privacy Policy

Effective date: 28 May 2026

True Colour Match by TCI is a Chrome extension published by True Colour International. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension collects, uses, stores, and shares when you use the extension.

What the Extension Does

True Colour Match by TCI lets users select colours from a visible web page, calculate colour values, compare those values with True Colour International colour profile data, create or access an account, and manage subscription checkout.

Information We Collect and Use

The extension collects and uses only the information needed to provide its colour matching, account, and billing features.

Account Information

When you create an account, log in, or request a password reset, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Password or password reset information
  • Authentication token returned after login
  • Account status and subscription status
  • Coupon or promotional code, if provided

We use this information to create and authenticate your account, keep you signed in, restore your session, check subscription access, send password reset emails, and determine eligible subscription offers.

Colour Matching Information

When you choose to use the colour picker, the extension may access the visible contents of the active browser tab so it can calculate the colour values of the area you select. The extension may process:

  • The selected visible page area
  • RGB colour values calculated from that selected area
  • Selected colour season or colour profile options

We use this information only to provide colour matching results. The extension does not collect browsing history, monitor pages in the background, or track websites you visit.

Billing Information

When you start subscription checkout, we may use:

  • Your account email address
  • Your selected subscription plan
  • Your subscription or trial eligibility
  • A temporary reference to the tab where checkout started

Checkout is handled by Stripe. We do not collect or store full credit card numbers in the extension.

Local Extension Storage

The extension uses Chrome local storage to store:

  • Your authentication token so you can stay signed in
  • A temporary checkout source tab ID so the extension can return you to the correct tab after checkout cancellation

This information is stored locally by Chrome for the extension and is used only for account and checkout continuity.

Permissions Used by the Extension

The extension uses Chrome permissions only as needed for its single purpose:

  • activeTab: to access the current tab after you click the extension icon so you can select colours from the visible page.
  • scripting: to display the extension’s colour matching interface on the active tab after you click the extension icon.
  • storage: to store your local login session token and temporary checkout state.
  • Host permission for https://xsws-qjgf-anka.n7c.xano.io/*: to communicate with our backend API for login, account status, billing, password reset, and colour matching.

How We Share Information

We share user data only when necessary to provide the extension’s features.

Xano

We use Xano as our backend service provider. The extension sends account, authentication, subscription, password reset, coupon, and colour matching requests to Xano so the extension can provide login, account status, subscription checkout creation, and colour matching results.

Stripe

We use Stripe to process subscription checkout and payment-related services. When you start checkout, Stripe may receive information necessary to create and manage the checkout session, such as your selected plan and account email address. Payment details are entered directly into Stripe’s checkout flow and are handled by Stripe.

Google Chrome and Chrome Web Store

The extension runs in Google Chrome and is distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Chrome may provide extension platform functionality such as permissions, local extension storage, and extension review or distribution services.

We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. We do not use user data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

Remote Code

The extension does not use remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code to provide its Chrome extension functionality. Extension scripts are included in the submitted extension package.

Data Retention

Authentication tokens remain in local Chrome extension storage until you sign out, remove the extension, clear extension data, or the token expires. Backend account, subscription, and authentication records may be retained as needed to provide the service, maintain account access, process subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud or abuse.

Temporary checkout tab information is used only to restore the billing flow and may be overwritten or removed as part of normal extension use.

Security

We use HTTPS to transmit data between the extension and our backend services. We take reasonable steps to protect authentication and account information. You should not share your password or account credentials with others.

Human Access to User Data

We do not allow humans to read user data except where necessary to provide support requested by the user, investigate security or abuse issues, comply with applicable law, or use aggregated and anonymized information for internal operations.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

The use of information received from Chrome extension APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use information obtained through Chrome extension permissions only to provide or improve the extension’s user-facing colour matching, account, and billing features. We do not use or transfer this information for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, credit-worthiness, lending purposes, or sale to third parties.

Your Choices

You can stop the extension from accessing a page by not clicking the extension icon on that page. You can sign out of your account from the extension. You can also remove the extension from Chrome to delete extension data stored locally by Chrome.
